Good times with good friends and good books
Today’s Bookish Memory is less about Wild Montana Skies, which I haven’t actually read yet, and more about book reviewer and friend Carrie Schmidt of ReadingIsMySuperPower.org!
I first met Carrie through participating in the first-ever Christian Fiction Readers Retreat in 2016, and then again in March 2017 which she came to speak at ACFW North Georgia.
And of course, we connected again when she was in Atlanta again for the 2017 RT Booklovers Convention.
“Always be yourself?” Pfft.
As I wrote previously, I attended that day largely for the Baker Publishing Books & Chocolate event. I thought I’d see her there, but I was a little surprised to spot her at the edge of the bookish fray when I popped over to say hello.
“Unfortunately, Susan May Warren couldn’t be here,” she explained and offered me a copy of the first novel in the Montana Rescue series, Wild Montana Skies. “So I’m Susie May today!”
“Not a bad person to be, eh? Always be yourself–unless you can be Susie May Warren. Then, be her!” I quipped.
We had a laugh over it, and I thanked her for the book and returned to the frenzy.
But on second thought…
Being ourselves is kind of awesome.
Something fun!
